今回は、Authentic Hues オフィスマネージャーBella （ベラ）のお話。

4月15日はBellaのお誕生日。 今年で７歳。アメリカ、ラスベガス生まれのペルシャ猫です。

Bellaが私のもとにきた経緯は、実は少し悲しいお話です。

Bella はもともと、私の友人 Marina の猫でした。
ラスベガスでペルシャ猫のブリーダーさんがブリーダー業をやめることになり、子猫や大人猫の里親を募集していました。

Marina は大のペルシャ猫ファン。
私も「見るだけー」と言いながら Marina と一緒に見に行ったのですが、最初は別の猫の里親になる予定だった Marina が Bella に一目ぼれ。予定を変更して Bella の里親になった、といういきさつがあります。

ところが、Bella を迎えて数か月後に Marina が入院し、退院したのもつかの間、その後まもなく帰らない人となってしまいました。

その後、Marina のお母様から「Bella を里親に出さないといけない」という話を聞き、私が引き取ることになりました。

Bella はプリンセス。
自分がかわいいことをよく知っています。

Authentic Hues が大切にしている
「自分軸を持って自分を知ること」。

Bella は、まさにそれを体現しているような猫です。

Bella は３か月に一度くらい、出張キャットサロンの Cat Salon Happy さんにシャンプーとヘアカットをお願いしています。
なかなかお手入れの大変なプリンセスです。（笑）

知らない場所に連れて行かれても堂々としていて、アメリカから日本へ来る前のホテル滞在でも、ペットキャリアから出るとすぐにベッドに上り、ベッドの真ん中で堂々とお昼寝。
物おじしない猫ですが、なかなかの気分屋でもあります。

オフィス出勤をお願いして一緒に来てもらうのですが、行き帰りの車の中では小言を言われます。

Bella のお気に入りのおもちゃがオフィスにあるので、それを持ってきては「遊べ」とばかりに私の仕事の邪魔をしたり、
パソコンに向かっていると、キーボードをブロックして遊んでほしいことをアピールしてくることも。

Authentic Hues に来られた方は、もしかしたら Bella に会えるかもしれません。

会いたい方は、予約の際にお伝えいただければ、Bella のご機嫌を取っておいて、当日はオフィスに来てもらえるように準備しておきます。

ちなみに、Bellaはチュールに全く興味なし。
チュールの賄賂は Bella に効きません。
なので、別の方法でご機嫌取りをしておきます。

Bella, the Office Manager at Authentic Hues

This time, I’d like to introduce Bella, the office manager of Authentic Hues.

April 15 is Bella’s birthday.
She is turning seven this year. Bella is a Persian cat born in Las Vegas, USA.

The story of how Bella came to live with me is not a happy one.

Bella originally belonged to my friend Marina.
A Persian cat breeder in Las Vegas had decided to retire and was looking for homes for both kittens and adult cats.

Marina was a huge Persian cat fan.
I went with her saying, “I’m just here to look.” At first, Marina was planning to adopt a different cat, but she fell in love with Bella at first sight. The plan changed, and Bella became Marina’s cat.

However, only a few months after Marina adopted Bella, Marina became ill and was hospitalized. She was discharged from the hospital, but not long after that, she passed away. I miss Marina greatly. Sometimes when I look at Bella, I feel like I see a little bit of Marina in her, and that brings me comfort.

Later, Marina’s mother told me that Bella would need to be rehomed, and that’s when I decided to take her in.

Bella is a princess.
She knows she is cute.

At Authentic Hues, one of the things I value is having a strong sense of self and understanding who you are. In many ways, Bella seems to embody that perfectly.

About once every three months, Bella gets a shampoo and haircut from Cat Salon Happy, a traveling cat grooming service.

She’s a high-maintenance princess — and rightly so. (lol)

She is very confident in unfamiliar places. When we stayed at a hotel before moving from the U.S. to Japan, she came out of her carrier, jumped onto the bed, and immediately took a nap right in the middle of it.

She’s not easily intimidated — but she is also quite a moody cat.

Sometimes I ask her to come to the office with me, but she tends to complain during the car ride there and back.

Bella has a favorite toy that stays at the office. She brings it over and demands that I play with her, often interrupting my work.

When I’m working on my computer, she sometimes blocks the keyboard to make it very clear that she wants attention.

If you visit Authentic Hues, you might have the chance to meet Bella.

If you would like to meet her, please let me know when you make your appointment. I’ll do my best to make sure she’s in a good mood and ready to come to the office that day.

One more thing — Bella has absolutely no interest in Churu treats.

Bribing her with Churu does not work.

So I’ll have to find some other way to win her over.
